Don't Forget the Easily Forgotten

"In a perfect world, every dog would have a home and every home would have a dog."

Wayne Pacelle, the president of the Humane Society of the United States, recently posted a story to his blog reminding us that although adopting puppies and kittens from shelters is absolutely fantastic, they are not the only ones who are in need of loving homes.

Sadly, the senior members of the adoption shelters are often passed without a second glance because they aren't as good looking or energetic as their younger kin. But as his story explains they have just as much love in their hearts that they are ready and willing to show to anyone who just gives them a chance.

"If they have special needs, they have lessons to teach you; like courage, inner strength, patience, gratitude and above all, love."
